Art has been the constant thread of my life. Private lessons as a child, a fine art degree, years as a portrait painter. Then life took a turn. Destination weddings, travel, building a business. I traded the studio for the world.
But a painter never really stops seeing. Even designing elopements across Lake Como, Tuscany, Provence, and California, I approach everything with an artist's eye.
Then COVID stopped everything. And I picked up a brush again.
The motifs I had been collecting through years of travel suddenly had a home. The cypress trees of Tuscany. The cupolas of Rome. The waves of California. Every place I had loved became a pattern.
I remember standing in my studio early in my career knowing I needed more. More life. More world. I told myself I would return to art after I had truly lived. That day came. And everything I lived is now in the work.
